We exist to glorify God by reaching students where they are, leading them in an interactive relationship with God, having transparent connections with others, and a living with a Glocal mindset. This is achieved through 5 core values:
“Fun” is very important to teenagers. We want teenagers to have opportunities to play and get to know other students and the adult leaders in a fun, laid-back environment. Paintball, Broomball, Six Flags, Flag-Football Tournament, and Mud-Bowl are just a few examples of the things we do for fun around here!
The PLEX is our student ministry building where most of our weekly events take place. Loaded with video games, a snack bar, and an incredible sound and light system, it is a great place for teens to come for an event or after school to kick back, relax and maybe even do some homework.
The Mix is a unique worship time for middle school students (7th – 8th grade). This is not a time for students to simply hear a message and go home, but rather spend some time together in groups discussing what they've learned. Thus The Mix is a mix of NSM's Wednesday night service and TEAMS. The Mix meets Wednesday nights in The PLEX from 6:15pm – 7:00pm for worship and The middle school TEAMS meet immediately afterwards from 7:15pm – 8:15pm.
More than anything we believe that students need to hold fast in order to survive what the world is going to throw at them. That's what Fuse is all about. A night once a week directed toward getting students to latch on to Christ and "Fuse" with him. Truly becoming a transparent follower of Christ. Fuse includes awesome worship and a powerful message from the NSM Staff. Fuse meets Wednesday nights in the PLEX from 7:30pm – 8:30pm
High School TEAMS meet in off-campus locations around the area throughout the week. This is a time for high school students to hang out with their friends in their neighborhood. A place where you can play football in the street and then go inside and talk about life and God with your friends in a living room. Middle School TEAMS meet after The Mix on Wednesday nights from 7:05 - 8:00pm at NorthWood Church. Middle School students get a chance to invite their friends to an incredible worship service and then sit down with them and talk about the message and what’s been going on in their lives that week.
These transformation projects are opportunities for students to live outwardly focused lives—to live beyond themselves. Opportunities range from traveling around the world to places such as Vietnam, Mexico, and Colorado to right here in our own local community. Local T-Ops consist of NorthWood’s Sports Camp, Revive, Haltom City Projects, and TEAMS projects.
