Weekend Activities

THE ZONE

At NorthWood, children participate in the fun-filled Zone. The Zone runs during both our Sunday services. All children, except those in the Baby Zone, rotate with their classes through different areas. This creates an exciting hour of fun and learning for the kids!

Baby Zone (0-2 years, no rotation)
We believe that no child is too young to experience and learn about God’s love. Loving teachers and caregivers help children develop a basic foundation of faith through repetition of simple Bible points, music, and a wide variety of multi-sensory learning activities.

Li'l Kid Zone (pre-school and kindergarten)
Children rotate to different learning centers within their rooms, and begin to build relationships with their peers and loving teachers. Age-appropriate curriculum is implemented to teach Bible truths during this time. This age group also rotates to the Celebration Zone a time of worship and a puppet show!

Kid Zone (1st-4th grades)
With their peers and teachers, the children celebrate God through worship, learn about God’s Word, and have fun building friendships with one another. Children rotate through three zones each hour:

Celebration Zone

Children celebrate God through praise and worship with a live band and learn biblical principles from Henry the Dog (puppet extraordinaire). An interactive Bible lesson features a dynamic storyteller.

Discovery Zone

Children grow in the practical application of God's Word, and cultivate relationships with peers and coaches. Here, small group coaches help children learn how to apply the Bible lesson through hands-on activities, games, and interactive dialogue.

Game Zone

Children learn build relationships with their peers in this highly active zone of games and fun.

Will my child be safe?

We consider physical and emotional safety for children paramount. Safety is achieved through safety-conscious policies and procedures, training for all personnel, and regular inspections of facilities and equipment. All of our children’s workers go through background checks and we have a secure check-in and check-out procedure so only you can go home with your child.

What about my pre-teen?

Our 5th and 6th graders get to meet in their own space--the The Shed building! We've designed their ministry to encourage the much-desired interaction with their peers, as video games, foosball and hang-out space is available. They interact with God as they are led in worship by a live band, and they grow in their faith as they discover God and learn to use their talents to serve Him. Also check out Wednesday nights.

Sunday Nights

Childcare

In conjunction with our Adult Teams that meet in various locations, we provide child care in the Comfort Zone for infants and toddlers up to age 2.
