Glocal

A key word in NorthWood's vocabulary is glocal (global + local). God’s love has no borders, and He calls us to share this love with people in our own backyard and around the world. We do this through mobilizing our people to serve in T-Ops (transformation opportunities) using their vocational skills, talents, passions and giftings. We dare you to find a talent or vocational skill we cannot use in making a glocal impact. After all, God designed you for something special and our Glocal Impact staff is here to help you fulfill your God given purpose. NorthWood also trains and equips leaders to start new churches with similar glocal DNA.

International Development

Northern Vietnam

In 1994, NorthWood made the decision to focus its overseas efforts on serving the people of Vietnam. Working exclusively in the north, we continue to touch lives through our work with hospitals, universities, orphanages and a multitude of other humanitarian pursuits. Once at odds, we now seek to build unity and work toward a promising future. To see a visual representation of our work in Vietnam click here.

Puebla, Mexico

Suffering the same needs as other developing nations, our Mexican neighbors present NorthWood with numerous opportunities for service in the areas of business, education, medicine, advocacy and water purification. Our support efforts include feeding the poor, healing the sick, caring for orphans and assisting local churches in Puebla to reach remote villages with the Gospel.

Community Development

Haltom City

God has called us to reach out to our neighbors in Haltom City. Our passion is to make a transformational difference in this multi-ethnic city of 40,000. We mobilize our people to serve in Haltom City using their vocational gifts, skills, talents, and passions. NorthWood presently partners with an elementary school to provide many programs for students and their families including: ESL, health clinics, neighborhood beautification, Fall Festival, Sports Camp and a Christmas event for children. We are also involved with Kid’s Café, feeding underprivileged children a hot meal every evening, and Love Never Fails, providing after school tutoring at low income apartments.

Church Multiplication

Since 1992, NorthWood's Church Multiplication Center has started almost 90 churches. From the beginning, NorthWood has been outwardly focused, with a clear mission to impact the world both locally and globally. As a result, more than 800 church-planting leaders have been trained, coached or mentored through NorthWood’s Church Multiplication Center. This training plays a significant role in making a long-lasting impact on church planters. We now have clusters of our churches in 19 cities throughout the United States. Sixty-two new churches have been planted in the network in 2005.
